Acceptable Use Policy
Effective date: April 9, 2026 — Last updated: April 9, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs what businesses and transactions are permitted to use Pay Oren ("the Platform") for payment processing. By registering as a merchant on the Platform, you confirm that your business and the products or services you sell comply with this policy.
We review all merchant accounts and reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to any account that violates this policy, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.
1. Compliance with Stripe
The Platform processes payments via Stripe Connect. All merchants are subject to both this AUP and Stripe's Services Agreement and Stripe's Restricted Businesses list. If your business or any product you sell appears on Stripe's Restricted Businesses list, you are not permitted to use the Platform — regardless of whether it is explicitly listed in this AUP.
2. Prohibited Business Types
The following business types are not permitted to register or process payments on the Platform:
Financial & Legal
- Money service businesses, currency exchanges, or money transmitters
- Cryptocurrency exchanges, wallets, or initial coin offerings (ICOs)
- Investment schemes, pyramid schemes, or multi-level marketing (MLM)
- Bail bonds or debt collection agencies
- Shell companies or businesses with no legitimate commercial purpose
Regulated Products & Substances
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives, or weapons of any kind
- Prescription drugs, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia
- CBD, hemp, cannabis, or any cannabis-derived products
- Tobacco, e-cigarettes, or vaping products
- Alcohol sold directly to consumers without appropriate licensing
Adult & Sensitive Content
- Adult content, pornography, or escort services of any kind
- Dating services with adult or sexually explicit content
Gambling & Games of Chance
- Online gambling, sports betting, fantasy sports with monetary prizes, or lotteries
- Sweepstakes or prize promotions that constitute gambling under applicable law
High-Risk & Fraudulent Activity
- Businesses with abnormally high chargeback or refund rates
- Businesses engaged in or suspected of fraud, phishing, or deceptive practices
- Credit repair, debt settlement, or advance-fee loan services
- Businesses selling counterfeit goods, grey-market items, or stolen property
- Drop-shipping operations with no genuine merchant-customer relationship
Other Prohibited Categories
- Political campaigns or political fundraising
- Non-profit fundraising without proper registration
- Businesses selling products or services that are illegal in the merchant's jurisdiction or the customer's jurisdiction
- Any business on the Stripe Restricted Businesses list
3. Prohibited Transactions
Even if your business type is permitted, the following transaction types are prohibited on the Platform:
- Payments for illegal goods or services under any applicable law
- Transactions designed to circumvent card network rules or payment processor terms
- Splitting a single transaction into multiple smaller transactions to avoid review thresholds ("structuring")
- Processing payments on behalf of a third party not registered on the Platform
- Transactions involving sanctioned individuals, entities, or countries as designated by OFAC or equivalent authorities
- Payments that are primarily intended to generate chargebacks or exploit refund policies
4. Merchant Responsibilities
By using the Platform, you agree to:
- Accurately represent your business type and the products or services you sell during registration and at all times thereafter
- Notify us promptly if your business changes in a way that may affect your eligibility under this AUP
- Maintain your own refund and returns policy that is clearly communicated to your customers
- Respond to chargeback disputes in a timely manner with accurate supporting documentation
- Cooperate with any compliance review, fraud investigation, or request for information we or Stripe initiate
5. Our Right to Enforce
We monitor merchant accounts for compliance with this AUP on an ongoing basis. If we determine, at our sole discretion, that a merchant is in violation of this policy, we may take any of the following actions without prior notice:
- Suspend payment processing for the account
- Terminate the merchant's account and access to the Platform
- Report the activity to Stripe, card networks, or relevant law enforcement authorities
- Withhold funds pending investigation where fraud or chargeback risk is elevated
Termination under this AUP does not entitle the merchant to a refund of any platform fees already collected.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered merchants.
